TURBO Rules Supreme in Spanish Championship

Spanish Champions-Barceloneta Water Polo Club-officially sponsored by TURBO
Barceloneta Water Polo Club (above) won the Spanish Men's National Championship today after beating arch rivals and neighbours, CN Barcelona.  Barceloneta won the first 3 matches of a best of 5 match duel.  It was not all plain sailing as they came from behind in all 3 games to hold on as eventual winners.  The results were as follows: Game 1. 6-5; Game 2. 11-10 and Game 3. 9-6.

This is the fiercest rivalry in Spanish water polo with International players from Spain, Serbia, Australia, Hungary and the USA all on display.  The quality of water polo was world class and a special highlight  was seeing 40 year old Spanish National Ivan Perez (below far left) still putting in game changing performances!

Current SA Mens #8 ,Ryan Bell, was a member of the CN Barcelona Team in 2007 and 2008 and would have played in a good number of these great water polo duels.  Ryan will be in action at the FINA World Championships later this year and will potentially get to play against some of his old team mates.  Turbo SA wishes him and the rest of the SA Water Polo Team best of luck!
